Dental Implants

Dental Implants are artificial tooth roots that replace the bottom of a tooth. A dental implant can replace a single tooth several teeth or an entire set of teeth. Dental Implants have been around for over 50 years and. Dental Implants are the most successful type of tooth replacement therapy. Dental Implants keep the bone in the jaws from shrinking. This is called bone Atrophy. There are many manufacturers of dental implants. All dental implants are made of titanium metal or a titanium alloy. There are various surface treatments for various dental implant systems to make the surface rougher and therefore increase the surface area on the dental implant fixture.

Implant Dentistry

Implant dentistry involves all the different aspects that involve replacing teeth with dental implants.

Implant dentistry is composed of the surgical phase. This is where the dental implant or dental implants are placed into the bone. Tooth whitening or tooth bleaching can be achieved in various ways. Some dentist like to designate themselves as a cosmetic dentist. A cosmetic dentist is simply a dentist that likes to focus their practice on cosmetic dentistry. They may take extra courses that deal with cosmetic dentistry beyond regular university education in addition to other cosmetic dentistry education.

Tooth Bleaching

Tooth bleaching is also called tooth whitening. There are various ways of whitening teeth. Teeth can be whitened with chemicals that roughen the surface of the tooth. This in turn scatters the light rays more and makes the teeth appear whiter. another way to whiten teeth is to cover them with resin. This is like putting a white filling on the tooth and make them appear whiter. This is sometimes called “ bonding “.

Veneers

Another more permanent tooth whitening option is to place porcelain veneers on the teeth. This is like placing artificial nails on natural nails to make them look good, The difference is that porcelain or laminate veneers are permanent. They are very strong. Porcelain veneers or sometimes called laminate veneers are actually stronger than natural enamel.
